Grooming Policy

Please read the following policies and guidelines before booking an appointment with me.

Health & Wellbeing of your dog

I want to make sure that I give the best care to your dog when they are with me. It is important you let me know of any medical issues that your dog has. I need to be aware of these before grooming your dog.

I have a range of shampoos and perfumes that I use. Please make me aware of any skin irritation or allergies your dog has [if known] and I will adapt to this with specific products that I have. I am also able to use any vet recommended shampoo that you have been given.

If during the groom I notice any health concerns with your dog, that have not been previously mentioned, I will make you aware, but I am not liable to give any advice.

If in the unfortunate event an incident/accident occurs, I will make you aware of what has happened and what/if any first aid has been given. Depending on the severity of the injury sustained will determine whether or not I can safely complete the remainder of the groom.

Cancellation Policy

A text reminder will be sent to you 48 hours prior to the groom. Any cancellation of an appointment with 24 hours or more notice can be rearranged at no cost.

Any cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will be charged at £10.

If an appointment has been made and I arrive to do the groom but cannot complete it for any reason out of my control, then you will be charged for the full groom.

Matted Coat

Understandably your dog can become matted from time to time depending on the coat they have and how often they are brushed or groomed. I will work with you and your dog to help ensure that I complete a groom in the safest, best way I can and help you maintain your dogs coat in your day to day life by giving any recommendations I can to reduce the risk of it happening again.

Where possible I will brush matting out but in some cases of matting it will require clipping.

Matting being removed from a dog can uncover issues and potentially cause issues such as skin irritation due to the hair being removed and the skin being exposed as the length of blade used would be much closer to the skin than a normal clip.

On arrival I will complete a check for matting, if there is any, then this will be discussed openly with you to ensure that I can resolve the issue in a safe manner for the dog and make you aware of any issues it may cause with the finished style.

I will also ask you to sign a matted waiver form.

I cannot be held liable for any injuries or nicks that occur as a result of a clip off due to matting.

Worming/Fleas

It is important that all dogs I groom are up to date with their flea and worming treatments. From time to time I will check this with you to make sure allowing me to reduce the risk of any transmission between dogs by caring out the relevant cleaning process.

Where possible I will carry out a groom on a dog who has fleas, this would need to be completed at the end of my grooming schedule for that day. There will be an extra charge of £10 added to the groom for me to ensure I use the appropriate method to decontaminate my van and all the tools used.

It is also important to note that only 10% of the flea population will be on the dog and 90% will remain in the environment. Therefore, carrying out a flea treatment in all the areas your dog has been will be necessary.
